Massolit Books is an English-language used bookstore and cafe located a few minutes from Krakow's old town center. The bookstore stocks about 20,000 titles from a wide range of subjects, both academic and popular. We specialize in classic and contemporary literature and academic titles in the Humanities with strong collections in Women's Studies, Jewish Studies, Polish and Central/East European Literature and History, and Asian Studies, among others. Most of our titles are either used books brought from the U.S., or new books that have been significantly discounted.

Please do! We welcome customers to browse the shelves and read our books or periodicals in the cafe or in the furnished back rooms. The cafe at Massolit features home-made American baked goods, fresh bagels, a wide selection of teas and recent English-language periodicals for reading (The Nation, New Yorker, NYRB, IHT, The Onion, etc.).

Massolit Books, in connection with the Krakow Open Forum on Central & Eastern Europe, our non-profit affiliate, also sponsors cultural events - including literary readings, scholarly lectures, musical performances, art exhibits, political discussions and informational meetings about non-profits active in the region. Please note that Massolit is a used bookstore (antykwariat), and we regret that we cannot special order books for customers, or help to obtain English- language research materials from the U.S.

We do buy books (mostly English-language, but also French, Russian, Spanish, German, Chinese), for either cash or store credit. For more information on selling your books to us, please contact us!
